Republican Infomercial

According to the Daily Caller Michelle Bachmann may have disclosed classified information during last night's debate.

  • Her being assigned to the Intelligence Committee just goes to show there are dumber people than her in Washington - When we vote her out, we must vote out those responsible for giving her access to classified information.   I mean, what's next? Outing a CIA agent?

Newt Gingrich took on a decidedly Reagan-esque stance last night and felt short of spelling Amnesty for anyone who had "done something bad" by entering the country 20 or 30 years ago.  The commentary on the main stream media speculates that this will hurt him with the base (whoever these people are) in the same manner it harmed Perry when he was attacked over providing low-cost tuition to the children of Immigrant who were/are not documented.
  • "The Base" does not want a vague resemblance to fairness, justice or a heart when it comes to "others" But I submit to you that Newt used this opportunity to pretend he had a heart, or a clue, based on the dismal effects that passing hateful and racists laws against migrant workers have had on Alabama's and Arizona's economy.  He is shrewd, not cool.
  • I would also like to point out that Newt's attempt to show he has a heart when it comes to migrant workers and immigrants in general fails miserably after the past few days in which he has been sharply criticized for wanting our children - as young as nine - to take over the janitorial duties in their schools. - Because every parent in this country DREAMS of their elementary school children using heavy polishers and scrubbing toilets to support the family.  After all, what parent wants their kids to do something as useless as reading and writing? Please take a moment to take a look at these pictures and read these children's stories. I beg you! please do so.
  • Another point to observe is how Newt Gingrich waxed on about family values during the debate and the lack of credibility that someone with his history has in any of these true and tried sound bites.  What works for others, can't possibly work for a man with such a dismal personal history of divorce, cheating and hypocrisy. You can read more about Newt Gingrich on a previous article on this blog.
Rick Perry came across as usual: Uninformed, wanting to say something profound but stumbling to connect information and thoughts into coherent sentences. Nothing new here but he did not stumble as badly as in previous debates.

Mitt Romney did not distinguish himself in any way, however, as a personal observation, it seems that he has been told repeatedly that he needs to be less wooden and connect with the audience in a more animated manner.  Unfortunately, his normal arrogant demeanor combined with animated force makes him come across as angry and demanding. Not a good combination for a hopeful commander-in-chief.

Ron Paul comes across as he always does: the reasonable grouchy grandpa that wants the 'darn kids to get off his lawn' - As usual, his rhetoric strongly advocates for doing nothing-about anything-ever - When it comes to foreign aid, it is 'every man for himself' - I have written about Ron Paul in greater detail in the past and it is hard for this writer to find redeeming qualities in this candidate since I follow the rhetoric with the actions and behavior of this individual and one of the words I tend to come up with time and again is hypocrite.

The remainder in the group of GOP hopefuls worth mentioning is Santorum for his outrageous statement of calling other religions 'radical' - when he is the poster child for radical religious ideology.   Worth mentioning as well is Huntsman who typically comes across as the only rational adult in the psych wing.  Unfortunately, the base is addicted to those who resemble them, so he does not get much room in these debates.

The Bad News

There are 13 debates currently scheduled.  Here are the times and dates so you can program your DVR or Tivo or... make other plans for the evening.

The Good News

The fact that we are outraged at the blatant attempt of these people to sell books and garner media attention instead of seriously running for office is a good thing.  It makes people who normally don't pay attention to politics aware that governance is everyone's business and that character and substance matter when it comes to problem solving and clearing the way toward a better future.

Happy Thanksgiving and PEACE to all

A Child's Rape

Penn State has a mess to clean up and we are going to let the justice department, lawyers and prosecutors deal with all the ramifications of systemically raping children by one of their staff and keeping a shroud of secrecy to maintain the enormous profits from their football program.  To date, those profits generated is in the millions of dollars annually.  It is unfortunate, but money rules and power corrupts any humanity or sense of common decency.

What I want to talk about today is Mike McQueary.  You know who he is by now, he is the assistant coach who witnessed the rape of a 10 year old in the showers.  McQueary has been kept off the field for the upcoming game because there are alleged threats against  him and his family and the university fears for his safety.

We have all heard people making off-the-cuff comments about McQueary and I am here, not to defend him, but to get you to look at things from a different perspective.

Question: How could Mike McQueary not have called the police?
Question: Why did McQueary not beat the living daylights out of the coach and then call the police and the boy's parents?
Observations made: McQueary is a strong, tall and muscular former quarterback, he could have taken on the child rapist with one hand tied behind his back. Why didn't him?

We will have to allow McQueary to make his statements, but the fact remains that what he saw bothered him greatly even if he had no training or clue on what a "normal" individual would do in a similar situation.  McQueary was a quarterback and now we are all playing arm chair quarterbacks thinking we would do things differently or better.

Let me assure you that right now, today, we all probably would.  Let me state that if you had been raised in an environment in which secrecy and loyalty are the only values that are stressed in your life, you would probably, most likely have said NOTHING to anyone.  Yes, you would not have said ANYTHING.

McQueary broke ranks.  He was bothered enough by it that he reached out to the person he trusted the most: His father.  He trusted his father who told him to report the situation to powerful coach Paterno.

Paterno reports that McQueary was visibly agitated when he arrived at his home the next day and told him what had happened.  McQueary put his trust and faith on the other adults around him who would take care of the most horrific situation he had experience in his life. (as far as we know).

McQueary was 28 and he did something NO ONE else had done before: He spoke up as an adult to the other adults who have always been in charge.  The adults in question took steps to cover it all up and send a very strong message to those below: Silence is Golden, Shut Up and demonstrate your loyalty to this magnificent and powerful institution.

Yes, McQueary is a big, strong guy, but size does not endow anyone with courage - Take a look at everyone who was in "the know" and ask yourself where was their moral compass? their compassion? their outrage?

Most of us would like to think that we would have beaten the tar out of ANYONE raping a child, but the sad fact is that when you are in an environment that squashes your very soul into submission, you keep your mouth shut and go on with blinders, tunnel vision and recurring nightmares.

Do you really think that if you were part of that environment you would actually speak up and against your bread and butter? Your superiors? Your own parents and coaches? - Think again and think without emotion but base your thinking with the restrictions of reality.  You are going to have to do some very hard soul searching that may leave you bruised and shake up all you think about yourself.

Don't believe the above statement? Take a look at the visceral reaction of Penn Students when coach Paterno was fired.  They did not rile up against the vicious cycle of child rape, but against the decision to take off the game an individual who little kids were afraid of.  Their loyalty is blind and this is expected in this type of environment. Even in light of these events, coaches have urged players' families and fans to wear white at the next game to show their support for Paterno.  Why? - Because the status quo must be maintained.  Silence and loyalty maintains power and generates wealth.

FACTS

A mother came forward this week and related that when she told her son to talk to coach Paterno, the child refused because he was just as afraid of him as he was of his rapist.  His rapist: Jerry Sandusky.

Why would a child be just as afraid of Paterno as he was of Sandusky? - His mother reveals that her son was allowed to leave school at age 11 with Sandusky and she was never notified by school officials.  How deep does the power of Penn State officials go? Why is it that when a mother called the police and filed a report against her son being sexually abused by Sandusky the case never saw the light of day? Why is it that a prosecutor who had NO INTENTION of pursuing the matter went missing along with the hard drive in his computer?

Sandusky was employed at Penn State University for over 20 years.  Do you have any idea how many children he raped in this period of time? What about before he was hired? Do you realize that maybe someone like McQueary may have fallen prey to this predator? or that many on the football team had come to accept that this is the price you pay for future fame and glory?  How many people in the span of 20 years KNEW, just KNEW that Sandusky should not be allowed around children and did NOTHING?

One answer fits all: People who are bred into the environment don't rock the boat.  They can lose their jobs and be mired in legal battles from which they will never recover financially or emotionally.

Don't believe me yet? Take a look at women sexually harassed by Herman Cain and the powerful industry that is talk radio and Fox programming.  These women have been belittled and demonized by these powerful people who see these women as an annoyance that must be destroyed so they can continue to go on with "business as usual." - Conferences have been cancelled and women refuse to come forward.  After all they had to go through, these women are still being victimized and silence is once again, forced on them.

Take a look at every child that comes back changed from their experience at summer camp and  won't talk about it until they are well into their 20's or even 50's. Silence was forced on them via threats and guilt.

No one knows what it is like to be sexually assaulted, degraded, demoralized and raped until we walk a minute in a victim's shoes.  Unfortunately, it is true that those who have been raped as children will either become predators themselves or the fiercest advocates for children's rights.  There is no way to sit on the fence on this issue unless you are still in shock over what happened to you.  Maybe, just maybe, this scandal at Penn State will allow those older players who are in denial or state of shock to come forth and speak up.  On the other hand, they may be silenced into submission once again by the media and Penn State's powerful lawyers.

PEDOPHILES - RAPISTS - PREDATORS

Pedophiles are called "repeat offenders" for a reason, they can't and won't stop.  These predators have a circle of intimates who are just like them.  They share child pornography via computers and enable one another to hunt for prey.

There is an organization that is exclusively about adults having sex with children, their claims are preposterous but they want to be legitimized.  They call themselves NAMBLA.  There are website that exclusively depict footage of adults having sex with children, just as there are web cams showing women being gang raped and bestiality.

You can find anything you want on the internet and connect with people who share the same predilections.  Predators stick together and the world of sports is as fertile a field as any other, but sport organizations comes with the added perk of collective and complicit silence.  Raped women or children are made to go away through shame or threats.  The cycle continues until someone blows the lid off and the powerful lose their cover.

Child rapists are predators who have no real human emotion that would preclude them from repeating the act with as many children as possible.  For Sandusky, the children he likes to rape are between 10 and 12 years old.  For Cain, the women were in their early 20's but one thing that unites these types of people is the safety of implicit silence and victim's shame.

While I strongly expect that many of Sandusky's victims ended up being players at Penn State or members of the staff at the university, I can only hope they will come forward now as a group, just like the women who were assaulted by Herman Cain.  There is strength and safety in numbers and this is the only way to destroy the power of silence and end a vicious cycle of generational abuse.

If you are an adult who has been raped as a child, you need to know these 2 things:

1.  YOU DID NOTHING WRONG
2.  IT WAS NOT YOUR FAULT - THE ADULTS IN YOUR LIFE FAILED YOU.

YOU AS A PARENT

If your child has been abused, let them know that it was not their fault and they did nothing wrong.  If they have never been abused, continue to think long and hard before you allow them to spend the night at someone's house or go away to camp or religious retreats.  The fact is that YOU DON'T KNOW these people. They are total strangers and if your child is uncomfortable around a relative or neighbor, pay attention; their body language and reactions speak louder than words. Heed them.

Where do you think pedophiles like to work and reside? They gain your trust and confidence as a parent because they are authority figures in religious institutions or camp counselors or coaches.  You, as an adult, do not question anything because you have been socialized into respecting and trusting a uniform or a position.  It is not unusual for parents to send their children away with total strangers because they are under the assumption that these people can be trusted.

IS THIS A NEW THING?

Things have not gotten worse since you were a child it just seems that way because we can repeat a story to everyone around the world in a matter of seconds. In our grandparent's generation children were raped by authority figures the same as today, but everything was kept at the local level, isolated and covered up quickly.  The components to perpetuating the cycle then are the same as they are today: silence, and good people turning away from things they found unpleasant and personally threatening.

Penn State is not the only story in sports where children are systematically raped either.  It happens all the time in schools and neighborhoods across the nation.  Take for instance the case of  Mr. Ogletree who spoke against Donald Fitzpatrick of the Red Sox.  Mr. Ogletree is 48 years old now but he was powerless when it happened to him at 10 years of age and so were the other children that shared his nightmare.

I summit the link to The Grand Jury findings on Penn State's investigation if you can stomach the detailed descriptions.

Before I leave you, I want to emphatically state that the phrase: "Children are resilient" is a big, fat lie made up to give adults a way out of their guilt.  It is insulting to children and minimizes their experiences as a right of passage.

Children are NOT resilient, they are SURVIVORS.  Don't ever let anyone tell you that your children forget. They don't. They remember every detail through their entire lives and when they have children of their own, it all comes back with a force that knocks the wind out of their sails. No one "gets over it" it is always there.

We can stop the cycle of abuse by speaking up.  It is the only way to hold power accountable for crimes against humanity and allow children to have a childhood they don't have to get over.

I wish you PEACE

The War On Terror

Navy Seals: 3 - Somali Pirates: 0

A horribly uninformed person on social media decided to wreck my mojo this past week.

He made no bones about the fact that he is behind Ron "fraud" Paul 100%  and accused President Obama of executing an American citizen. He doubled-down by saying that the President was weak on defense and foreign policy.

Seriously? could any two thoughts in the same sentence be more contradictory?

Okay, for the last time:

Anwar al-Awlaki was an American citizen, but tea party, evangelicals and GOP affiliates have NO business complaining about a MUSLIM terrorist killed by the United States government.

Since 9/11 Americans have been subjected to a specifically vile and repulsive series of attacks by simply being Muslim.  The haters railed against building mosques, they threaten Muslim CITIZENS in their own homes and places of employment and the so-called "real Americans" did not bat an eyelash when these Muslim citizens were specifically singled out at airports and publicly humiliated. The undeniable fact is that these Muslims are honest and law-abiding AMERICANS but are treated like terrorists in their own country by the above mentioned mobs.

These facts never enters their collective noggin.  Why? Because they are not perceived to be as American? However, without missing a beat, they turn against "Muslim President Obama" (Kenyan born and all... ya know?) for killing an American (the fact that he was a terrorist on the most wanted list is not worthy of consideration)

... But Rick Perry who has murdered 234 American citizens gets applause? ...

These people are nuts! - It is impossible to reach a common sense agreement with emotionally disturbed individuals who compound their inability to separate fact from fiction by remaining as uninformed as possible.

Food For Thought

  • It is the responsibility, and sworn oath of office, of elected officials to protect the Constitution of the United States against "Foreign and Domestic enemies" ... blah, blah.... Why would anyone get a free pass based on where they were born?
  • Timothy McVeigh was a home grown terrorist who devastated us by cowardly massacring civilians in the Oklahoma Federal Building - The images of dead children will live for ever in our collective memories. - Well, Guess what? We killed that bastard! If he had made a mad rush to the Pakistani border, there is no doubt our current "Kenyan born, Muslim worshipping", president would have ensured he met with the same fate as Anwar al-Awlaki.
  • A terrorist has no borders, no loyalty to country, and no respect for other people's lives - whether they are young or old is irrelevant because their only loyalty is to IDEOLOGY - They left their nationality behind when they signed up for terrorist boot camp and they don't get a free pass, even if they were born in the USA.
  • Contrary to popular paranoia fed to the uninformed masses via corporations masquerading as news organizations, terrorist don't lose sleep over killing Americans, they are busy plotting against other countries as well - in short, we are not that special, just one of their many targets. (Madrid, London, France, the Netherlands... the list goes on)

It was not wrong or unfair to dispose of a terrorist - it prevented horrors from happening in the USA and in other countries as well.

The appropriate response to keeping us safe from foreign and domestic enemies is: Thank you Mr. President. Period.

I ask you: Can we please slap the next person that hints at President Obama not being tough, decisive or capable of protecting our country? Can we? - Because it should be obvious to everyone by now that he is quite capable of chewing gum and answering that 2:00 a.m. call without missing a step.

No apologies needed.  Thank you Mr. President.

Common Sense is Not Common

Occupy Wall Street
As my mom likes to remind me: "Honey, common sense is not as common as you think." Below is what's been on my mind after, sadistically, watching Meet the Press and Cristianne Amanpour's shows this morning.

Never again! - *Employing that common sense mom keeps talking about*

What's on my mind?

Ron "fraud" Paul is crazy like a fox.  He'll never win the presidency and he knows it, but the base has been bamboozled enough to continue to send him money. His base is unable to connect the dots between a racist, woman hater, who rails against government but has not had any other job in decades - he is the welfare queen they despise so much.

John McCain is not part of this GOP race, but he tries to be upfront and center whenever possible and only when war is involved.  He is a bitter old man who sullies everything our brave citizens in uniform stand for.  His "expertise" is as irrelevant as an 8-track tape in modern days but that won't stop the GOP hopefuls from invoking this morning's opinions opinions on the next debate.  McCain's over-blown image as a war hero is just as indelible in republicans minds as the inaccurate version of President Ronald Reagan.

Newt Gingrich can't keep a wife or staff members and he is winging the debates in the hope of selling more of his irrelevant diatribe in hard cover.  As a former, and failed, house speaker he should have the common sense of retiring with his millions and his next ex-wife to another country.  This one is obviously not to his liking.

Bachmann is a disgrace to women-kind - Enough said about this parasite of society who has lived off the people's tax money for decades - Her family farm is subsidized by tax payers - Received ample funds from tax payers to have a string of foster kids go through the revolving doors of her house - She and Marcus are making a killing from Medicare payments on her "cure the gay" clinic. - Okay, maybe now I  have said enough. She makes no sense at all.

Herman Cain is an opportunistic moron who follows in the path of Sarah 'Alaska disaster' Palin and whose sole intent is to unload as many books as possible before his flame fizzles out. (that and get speaking engagements and a steady contract with Faux "news") - His 9-9-9 proposal has been discredited by everyone with a calculator, but he is doubling down today! - When confronted with the fact that this plan will place poor people in greater hardship, he stated that "I have a way to fix that, I just have not divulged it yet" - Good Herman, good! just keep it to yourself because nothing you say, makes any sense anyway.

Willard Mittens Romney is afraid of not pandering to enough people, so he changes his tune daily which is no longer funny or marginally interesting. This guy definitely has no common sense, and yet, he is the most likely of the bunch to become the GOP nominee.

Perry is like "W" but dumber and meaner.  He doubles-down on the sanctity of life and never makes the connection between what he spouts and the fact that he has murdered American citizens on a regular basis.  The most offensive thing about him, is that after executing 234 people, he has the audacity to stay that he "does not lose sleep over executing possibly innocent people" - This is what we aspire to be when we grow up? This is the type of person we want representing us? Does this man make any sense?

The GOP selection pool has become nothing more than an opportunistic way to strike while the iron is hot and part people from their hard-earned money quickly.  We have never seen such a blatant display of "buy my book" and "attend my $$$ dinner" as we have in this election cycle.  Yes, it was done before, but not with this lack of grace or class, or without having some real credentials in leadership and common sense

Not a single one in this bunch is fit to be president. As mom would say: "I told you before... I'll tell you again... common sense is not as common as you think."

PEACE to all (and patience, lots of patience)

War is Money

Do you remember when President Obama took a handful of Navy Seals and with one single shot disposed of Somali pirates and rescue the hostages? - If this action had been taken by a militia guy he would be hailed as a hero by the GOP, but instead we got silence.

Do you remember when President Obama announced that Osama Bin Laden had been taken out by a group of Navy Seals with no loss of life to American troops? - We heard some minor rumbles of discomfort from the GOP - Why? because President Obama is doing it wrong - This is not war, this  is not war the way the GOP likes it.  We have rules created by the corporations they represent and President Obama is doing everything the wrong way.  A really good president would ensure that private corporations are involved at a huge profit.  The more bloodshed, the better.

What about President Obama's "treasonous" behavior of empowering the people of Libya by offering support once we were asked in a coalition of efforts with European nations? - Once again, a dictator is gone, we are not perceived as bullies around the world and once it is all said and done, instead of shouting "death to America" on the streets, all we heard is "Thank you America" - The GOP insists, despite the evidence, that this is bad for America - We look weak around the world and once again, President Obama is wrong.

We know these people hear the voices on American streets but they are more of an annoyance than anything else, the real listening goes on at the golf course and in the board rooms and the message is clear, President Obama is pissing them off.

The final straw was the announcement that after losing 5,000 soldiers and spending over $700 Billion dollars achieving nothing, we were pulling out of Iraq.  The corporations reached out to their elected representatives and all of them repeated the same talking points in varying degrees.

Robert Kagan on Amanpour stated that our leaving Iraq will be viewed as a retreat.  Obviously they don't want to say "cut and run" just yet, and the only way to declare "Mission Accomplish" is if we continue to commit American troops into a war that should have never happened to begin with

Why is this happening? because military contractors are not going to be getting their millions this upcoming year and mercenaries need wars to stay afloat (Remember Black Water, now going by Xe?) -  The same thing can be said by corporations that rape and pillage other people's countries, like Halliburton and GE among the many who's business is to create parts and equipment or pillage the other country's natural resources.

McCain is back at it as the only super-glorified prisoner of war the GOP finds specially useful to drone on about foreign policy - The GOP way.

On This week with Christiane Amanpour McCain verbally assaulted President Obama's decision to keep his promise to bring our troops home.

The Talking points:

"It is the wrong policy"
"It is a win for Iran" (See what he did here?) **
"It is a serious mistake"

** Watch next week when they all ramp up the rhetoric to "Bomb, Bomb, Iran"

Adding to that he said that embassy personnel will be a target once the troops leave.  He is in the region and according to him, that is the word on the street.  It is just too bad that word on American Streets is ignored by these tone deaf ears.

In case you missed it this morning, I leave you with what is the most telling and blatant desperate attempts to continue to maintain the only thing the GOP values: War and Money.

Click on this link to watch the round table discussion: This Week With Christiane Amanpour

Thankfully, the 99% is listening to the words on OUR streets.

Banks Are Government Victims

Make no mistake, according to Herman Cain, we have too much government interference when it comes to the banking industry and the government should just stay out of attempting to regulate or have anything to do with the banking industry.  He has also stated that banks have no obligation towards mortgage holders.  Unfortunately, he does not seem to be aware that there was a massive bailout of the banking industry in the trillions of dollars and because he does not know that (insert all the dripping sarcasm you can find here) he can't complain about the government interfering in keeping the banks afloat.

He blames the FDIC for regulations and "the things" banks can and cannot do. Sound bytes: Barriers, restrictions, free market, threat of government regulations prevent banks negotiating with homeowners and my favorite, "The banks cannot get as creative as they could be" Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the "creative" part what brought Wall Street and the international economy to its kness? For more of Herman Cain's "Blah, blah, blah... " Watch the video below with credit to Think Progress.

The banks, Mr. Herman Cain don't negotiate with homeowners because there is no money in it. Period.  If there was a buck to be made they'd be all over it.  According to the most recent Federal Reserve Bank of Boston study, banks recover more of their money through foreclosures than by adjusting rates or reducing principal so homeowners can stay in and maintain their homes.  So Mr. Herman Cain should get some valid information before he starts spouting the dangerous nonsense about eliminating banking regulations, because what he is essentially saying is that we should trust the thieves to guard the bank volt.

The Banking industry won't find an ally in what would be a much better representative for the GOP in this upcoming election than John Huntsman.  He fully understands the concept of monopolies and warns of the dangers of having institutions considered "Too big to fail"

If it weren't for regulations, Mr. Cain, Citi Group would have gotten Scott-free for perpetrating fraud against consumers.  Thankfully, they are subject to some rules and are subjected to law suits for FRAUD, yes, Mr. Cain, this is what happens when those with all the money take advantage of those who don't have the kind of clout or power the giant conglomerates have.  A settlement of $285 Millions dollars is a drop in the bucket for the Saudi owned corporation who can recoup that kind of cash in a few minutes and then write the entire amount as a tax deduction through the myriad of loopholes in the tax code that was designed to benefit these institutions exclusively.  - Go ahead and tell them you are replacing all this with a 9-9-9 plan and see how far that gets you - But knowing how slick you are and how responsible you are about not biting the hand that feeds you, you will likely keep those loopholes in place and further the greedy agenda of your party to screw only the minions, peons, poor and elderly.

We fully understand why the 99% of the population is targeted by your party - We can always make more of those pesky people who are causing trouble by Occupying Wall Street and Occupying ... well, everything world-wide because, unfortunately for the majority of us,  we have a segment of the population that is rabid about aiding and abetting in controlling their neighbors and their lifestyle.  These people support any and all types of government intrusion into women's uterus, denying the right to have an abortion and making it impossible to obtain contraceptives.

It is all these unintended pregnancies that will continue to replenish the pool of desperate people willing to work below minimum wage and keep them looping into a cycle of poverty and unintended ignorance.

It is this cycle of perpetuated ignorance that allows Herman Cain to blame "the little people" for their own miserable failure to become wealthy because he, Herman Cain is a perfect example of how anyone can be become extraordinarily rich by pulling himself by his own bootstraps.  The cycle of ignorance is what allows Cain to double-down on his rhetoric and have an audience of people who make under $50,000 a year cheering widely.

What is appalling is that the cheering took place in my state of Nevada where the unemployment rate is estimated to be close to 25% when we take into account the people who are no longer eligible to receive unemployment insurance, have not worked long enough to qualify for filing claims and have not been able to find work for the past two years.  It is also disturbing that in the state where upper middle-class neighborhoods are eerily silent due to the banking industry schemes and the rush into foreclosures, the members of this audience found it so appealing to blame the victims rather than the perpetrators.
